LSU Basketball Player Angel Reese Trades the Court for Pool in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue

The star forward posed for the annual edition in Los Angeles.

LSU basketball star Angel Reese, who led the Tigers to the NCAA women’s basketball championship last month, posed for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue in Los Angeles, where she worked with photographer Yu Tsai. She is one of only two active college athletes to ever be featured in the pages of the magazine.

The Baltimore native sported several stunning looks at her photo shoot including a forest green swimsuit by Louisa Ballou, which was accented with gold rings that matched her earrings by Louis Abel. 

Reese shared that although she was nervous at the beginning of the photo shot, once she warmed up, and got to know the team, she found her stride.

“I had on thong bathing suits and I didn’t think I was going to be comfortable, but [everyone] made me feel really comfortable,” she says. “I work out a lot. I embrace my body and who I am and every mark on my body. I probably feel the sexiest in a bathing suit.”

During the 2022–23 season, Reese set a national record with 34 double-doubles and was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four. The “Bayou Barbie” has made a name for herself while profiting from name, image and likeness (NIL) deals, racking up an estimated $1.3 million in brand deals with companies like McDonald’s and Mercedes-Benz Baton Rouge.
