Solveig Hansen’s Magnificent SI Swim Debut Is Making Us Want to Take a Trip to the Mountains

The Danish model returned to her roots for her 2015 photoshoot.

Though perhaps unconventional where SI Swimsuit photoshoots are concerned, Solveig Hansen’s 2015 debut in the mountains of Tennessee must have struck her as somewhat familiar. She was new to the set of an SI Swimsuit photoshoot, but the setting—a farm in the countryside—was more than familiar to her.

The model grew up on a horse farm in Denmark, where she learned how to ride when she was just 3. So, her trip to Walland, Tenn., alongside photographer Ben Watts and the rest of the SI Swimsuit team, which included photos in the fields and atop beautiful horses, was likely a trip down memory lane for her.

And she made the most of it, too. Hansen posed in a series of country-inspired swimsuits—think bright florals and muted plaids—on a farm in the quiet, verdant countryside of the state. She even took the chance to flaunt her skill on horseback and posed for some stunning snaps while she was at it.

These days, almost 10 years since her debut, the 28-year-old continues to work in the swimwear modeling industry, as well as for other brand campaigns in her home country of Denmark and beyond.

Though it’s been some years, it seems that after all this time, we still can’t quite get over her SI Swimsuit feature. It was just that unique, and she was just that fabulous. With that in mind, we’re taking a look back at that idyllic trip. Here are some of Hansen’s best photos from the day.
