These 10 Photos of Georgina Burke in Puerto Rico are Unmissable
Australian model Georgina Burke made her debut appearance in the SI Swimsuit Issue last year with a photoshoot in Barbados. She followed up the feature with a second one this May, after traveling to Puerto Rico with photographer Ben Watts.
The now 32-year-old has been modeling ever since she was 17, earning features and posing for brand campaigns with the likes of Saks Fifth Avenue, J.Crew and Bloomingdale’s. In line with her SI Swimsuit features, some of her most recent work has been with Seafolly, a popular swimwear brand from her native country.
The model is also the creator of her own swimwear company, Burke NYC, a brand geared toward size-inclusive garments. The endeavor is in line with both her career history—which features several swimwear campaigns—and her outspoken advocacy for body positivity and size diversity in the industry.
For this year’s isuse, Burke traveled to Puerto Rico, a surfing destination in the Caribbean alongside a handful of other SI Swimsuit models. Her photoshoot was inspired by surfing culture and popular garb of the 1970s. Thus, the swimwear she donned for her second feature was vibrant, colorful and vintage.
In recent months, the model has spent time back in her home country Australia—where she hasn’t lived full-time since moving to London at 17—to work as an ambassador for the Melbourne Cup Carnival, a horse race in Melbourne, Australia. The role consists of vibrant business chic outfits, which are reminding us of the vibrant suits that Burke sported in Puerto Rico.
Below are 10 of the most stunning photos of Burke donning her best surf-inspired swimwear in the Caribbean.
