Maye Musk thought she was being interviewed about her experience as a SI Swimsuit rookie until editor in chief MJ Day surprised her to reveal that Musk is on the cover of the new 2022 issue. 

“It’s an important moment for women and for people that think they can’t do things or that there’s a timeline on their goal list,” says Day.

“I’ve just seen the cover. As a rookie I’m on the cover! It’s so amazing and the photo is beautiful. I’m very excited to let people know that women in their 70s are gorgeous,” says Musk.
