When it comes to fashion, German-American supermodel Heidi Klum has got red carpet-ready looks covered. The SI Swimsuit legend also knows how to rock a bikini, has a great sense of street style and isn’t afraid to try out new trends (or be an early adopter of them, either). 

For these reasons and many more, we’re constantly following Klum’s latest and greatest looks for fashion inspiration. The 40-year-old mom of four has spent much of the year thus far working on the America’s Got Talent set, enjoying adventures with her family and finally debuting her eagerly awaited Halloween costume (yes, it was in fact worth the wait). 

While she rocks a little black dress like no other, Klum’s sense of style often incorporates pops of color and unique details (think feathers, jewels and lots of cut-outs) that shine almost as bright as her personality. She frequently works with stylist duo Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, who know exactly how to flatter her figure, while her glam team spices things up with complimentary hair and makeup each and every time.

Shimmering at the Golden Globe Awards

It should come as no surprise that Klum made our best dressed list after wearing this dazzling sequined Kevin Germanier mini dress to the Golden Globes in January. The number featured side cut-out detailing and a fuzzy purple boa, which she paired with silver strappy heels.

Golden girl at the 65th annual Grammy Awards

Klum opted for this jaw-dropping floor-length dress to accompany her husband, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, to the Grammy Awards in February. From the braided deep V-neckline to the golden chainmail fringe, we simply can’t get enough of this ensemble.

Hollywood’s hottest Academy Awards after-party

Klum dressed to impress in an intricately beaded sheer Zuhair Murad gown, which featured flattering side cut-outs, for an Oscars after-party in March.

(Sparkly and sophisticated) blue jean baby

Not only is this sparkly blue asymmetrical Julien Macdonald gown out of this world, we are simply obsessed with Klum’s take on washed denim eyeshadow, courtesy of makeup artist Linda Hay.

A walking work of art

For the world premiere of The Little Mermaid in May, Klum donned a three-dimensional butterfly Jasmin Erbaş couture gown, which featured a delicate, intricate train. Clear pointed-toe heels completed the look.

Yes, she Canne

Klum took to the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in May wearing an astounding draped yellow gown with underboob-baring cut-outs and a thigh-high slit from Zuhair Murad’s spring 2023 couture collection. Our collective jaws are still on the floor over this one.

The queen of cut-outs

If it’s not clear by now, Klum is the queen of cut-out dresses. She also has the confidence to pull off a dress that combines two different aesthetics into one, like this black-and-blue number she wore to the Jean Paul Gaultier haute couture show in Paris this summer.

Bejeweled on the red carpet

Nothing makes a room shimmer quite like Klum’s bejeweled Retrofete mini dress, which she wore for an America’s Got Talent red carpet event two months ago.

A floral vision 

Klum brought spring vibes to the red carpet when she wore this floral number in September. The sheer black midi dress with colorful floral appliqués by Bronx and Banco perfectly hugged her curves and hit her flatteringly mid-calf. 

Red hot in the color of the season

Klum has been rocking the color of the season since mid-summer, when she began favoring her long red fingernails of the moment. For an America’s Got Talent red carpet in September, she opted for this figure-hugging Maria Lucia Hohan gown with a boned bodice, lace neckline and thigh-high slit in a fiery hue.

Glam at the New York Public Library

The 1998 SI Swimsuit Issue cover star wore this black-and-white optical illusion Tony Ward gown to the Albie Awards at the New York Public Library this fall. From the intricate beaded detailing to the sweetheart neckline, Klum was the picture of class.

Her most extravagant Halloween look yet

Naturally, we would be remiss to not include Klum’s Halloween costume on any best dressed list that concerns the supermodel. After much secrecy, her fantastic peacock costume not only lived up to the hype, it far exceeded it.
