Lori Harvey is making her SI Swimsuit debut in this May’s 60th anniversary issue, and we’re totally in awe of the sneak-peek pics that were just released. The model and entrepreneur, who launched her Yevrah Swim brand last August, was photographed by Yu Tsai on the beaches of sunny Mexico for her rookie feature with the brand.

While on location, the 27-year-old talked all things beauty and skincare, something the SKN by LH founder is well positioned to do.

“Beauty to me, I think starts internally—having a good spirit, [being] sweet and kind, how you treat people,” the Tennessee native says. “The internal beauty is what radiates outside—being confident in yourself, owning it, working it, whatever it is, embracing everything, flaws and all. I feel like a beautiful smile is everything, a million bucks.”

Harvey launched her skincare line in October 2021. The brand debuted with a five-product line, each ranging from $35 to $50, with the entire “Lori’s 5-Step System” sold in a kit for $195. The model uses her full collection religiously each morning.

“That is my go-to every day to just keep my skin, healthy, glowing and hydrated—[in addition to] drinking lots of water,” she shares. Harvey adds that her favorite hero item from the line is the White Tea Toner ($35), which is meant to be applied right after cleansing and before any serums or moisturizers.

“It’s just super hydrating,” she says. “You can even use it throughout the day just as a nice refresh for your skin to keep it glowy and dewy.”

She teases that up next for her skincare line is either an SPF or a lip balm. Shop the entire collection at SKNbyLH.com.

Dealing with rosacea

Harvey explains she was first inspired to start a skincare brand because of her rosacea and has had a tough time finding simple, fragrance-free products that won’t irritate her sensitive skin or make her break out.

“I’ve definitely grown to love my rosacea. It’s a skin condition that I was really insecure about when I was younger. My face would get really red, splotchy, like somebody could just touch me, and then I’d get red,” she shares. “I [was] very shy about it [and wanted] to cover it up a lot, using heavy makeup to try to work with the splotchiness. Now, I just embrace it. People [say], ‘You’re really red.’ I’m like, ‘It’s fine, it’ll go away.’ It’s a part of life—embracing everything that comes with it.”

She developed the Niacinamide Cream ($38) specifically to be a super rich moisturizer with luxurious hydrating ingredients like hyaluronic acid to boost radiance and promote a healthy, moisturized skin barrier. The product has been a “game-changer” for her rosacea, she says, “because niacinamide is great for boosting moisture and balancing your skin, and it also helps with inflammation and calms redness, which is exactly what I need.”

Face masks for traveling

Harvey‘s favorite skincare travel hack is packing face masks to rehydrate and recharge her skin when it gets dull, or when she’s in need of some TLC.

She swears by using moisture-packed masks while traveling, particularly while on a plane. Her best tip to keep skin hydrated while traveling is to pop on a face mask during takeoff.

Below are some of her all-time favorite face masks.

Dr. Jart+ Dermask™ Water Jet Soothing Hydra Solution Face Mask, $7 (sephora.com)

“It’s super hydrating and it’s also really great for the girls with sensitive skin, like me,” she says. “This is a favorite of mine. I’ll put it on right after takeoff literally until the mask dries out. Afterwards, I’ll massage the [remaining product] onto my face.”

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask and Moisturizer, $49 (sephora.com)

“[This] leaves my skin looking nice and juicy for the plane, because dehydrated skin is the absolute, absolute worst,” she adds, noting that she loves to lather this on after a sheet mask for an additional layer of hydration.

Cosmedix Face Masks, $29.70 to $71.50 (cosmedix.com)

Harvey loves reaching for this brand, which offers masks for truly all sorts of skincare needs.
