Need to Upgrade Your Luggage? SI Swimsuit Has Got You Covered

Catch your next flight in style with one of these classic bags.

There is nothing better than the anticipation of a vacation. Whether you’re headed to Europe for a month-long trip, to California for a week-long getaway or on a weekend road trip, nothing can beat that thrill of the journey ahead. The one thing that can put a damper on your excitement (besides a cancelled flight) is packing your suitcase -- or even worse un-packing it. If you’re like me, you throw everything in the night before and hope for the best. Then when you return, your luggage sits there for a week or two before you decide to tackle the heaps of laundry and truly confront your return to the real world. While the act of packing and unpacking is the least enjoyable thing about a vacation, you might as well have cute, sturdy and easily transportable luggage to take with you. These bags are some of my favorites and if I can offer any advice to you in the world of travel, here it is: get a four-wheeled, spinner suitcase. It’ll make avoiding the tourists at JFK while you’re running to catch your flight that much easier, so much so that you may even have time to stop for some Shake Shack on the way.

Eagle Creek: I may as well be a walking advertisement for Eagle Creek. I shout their praises to everyone I meet. I have also mentioned them in countless articles on this website. Most of the SI crew uses any one of their suitcases for our journeys around the world and you should, too. They are so durable; they may not be the chicest but they last a lifetime.

AWAY: I love my AWAY. It is the luggage I use when going on a trip with my boyfriend, family or friends. It is much cooler than the aforementioned Eagle Creek suitcase but just as durable for casual trips. It’s perfect for a week-long vacation and your basics, I would not recommend it for a hiking adventure or a safari trip, though (you may get some stares).

CALPAK: Assistant Editor Joanna Giunta swears by hers, so you should, too. Joanna has a timeless black style but, browse through their color options and choose something that suits your palette.

TUMI: If you can splurge on a TUMI, get one. I received one as a graduation present years ago and it is still functional and just as classic as ever. You can even get yours monogrammed so you will never miss yours on the carousel again. Okay, lies, you will but the monogram is helpful for identifying once you have it in your possession.

AmazonBasic: With over 12,000 reviews and a low price point, this piece will allow you to splurge on that amazingly tacky airport souvenir you swear you will use once you get back home from your vacation.
