Emily Ratajkowski made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2014 after being photographed in St. Lucia by Walter Iooss Jr. Her first feature with the franchise included a stunning series of images in which the model wore only body paint. The following year, Ratajkowski posed for Yu Tsai in Kauai, Hawai’i.

Since her modeling career began, Ratajkowski has added entrepreneur, New York Times best-selling author and podcast host to her resume. Today, she’s the founder of swimwear line Inamorata and interviews celebrities and special guests about everything from politics to feminism on her podcast, High Low With EmRata. Her book, My Body, was published in 2021 and explores Ratajkowski’s ideas of what it means to be a woman today.

“All of these are stories about my body in different ways,” Ratajkowski told Vanity Fair about her book. “How it’s perceived, how I’ve used it, how it’s been used, what access it’s granted me, how it’s also made me at times feel like I’m nothing more than a body... I liked using the real associations that people have in a conceptual way so that it would inform the book once they started it. Thinking about their preconceived ideas about me and using that as a tool in the experience of reading it.”

Below are a few of our favorite images from Ratajkowski’s 2015 photo shoot in Hawai’i.
