The 2023 World Championships for track and field just concluded in Budapest, Hungary, and one of our favorite former SI Swimsuit stars was among the ranks of those competing for a top spot and medal.

Australian track star Michelle Jenneke brought her talents to bear in in the European city, taking on several other top athletes in the world while vying for place on the podium in her signature event, the 100 meter hurdles. On Aug. 23, she announced via Instagram that she had qualified for her fifth semifinals appearance in the event in as many World Championship appearances. Though she gave it her all, the star was unable to advance to the finals. But she left Hungary with an Olympic qualifying time under her belt, a No. 14 world ranking and “fire in my belly for more!” she said in an Instagram caption on Aug. 28.

In honor of her epic performance, we are throwing it back to the athlete’s incredible 2013 SI Swimsuit Issue feature in Las Vegas. The icon headed to the states for her photoshoot, posing for photographer James Macari in a series of poolside snaps.

Jenneke brought her signature fun, lovable energy and good attitude to the feature, and the final products reflect that. She donned a series of plum- and black-colored bikinis and wore her luscious dark hair in a soft wave for the experience.

Here are five of our favorite high-energy images of the talented runner in Vegas.
