Don’t Forget About These 5 Photos From Martha Stewart’s History-Making SI Swim Feature
Lifestyle guru, entrepreneur and author Martha Stewart made history with her 2023 SI Swimsuit cover feature.
The 82-year-old, who is a mom of one and grandmother of two, landed on the front of last year’s issue, becoming the oldest woman to do so in brand history. Visual artist Ruven Afanador captured a truly stunning spread of photographs of Stewart in the Dominican Republic.
“I thought, ‘This is kind of historic’ and ‘I better look really good because I want other women to feel that they could also be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.’ But I’m telling you, it’s very inspiring to take a look at a [picture by photographer] Ruven [Afanador] of Martha Stewart in the ocean here at Casa de Campo and see something really gorgeous,” the New Jersey native, who is the founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, said while on location.
The Emmy Award-winning TV host and The Martha Stewart Podcast host is a real trailblazer in the modeling, fashion, entertainment and homemaking industries. Stewart is constantly proving that age is just a number, both when it comes to what you can achieve and fostering personal or professional relationships. She defies stereotypes every day and we are beyond honored to call her a part of the SI Swimsuit family.
Today, we’re showing Stewart a little love with some stunning throwback pics from her 2023 feature with the magazine in the Dominican Republic, including the swimwear style that resulted in that incredible cover image.
