8 Ethereal Photos of Lily Aldridge in the Pacific Northwest
For model Lily Aldridge, her second photoshoot with SI Swimsuit was unreal. In 2015, she headed to Washington for her sophomore feature in the annual issue, taking on the Pacific Northwestern natural elements alongside photographer Yu Tsai.
“We shot in Olympic National Park, which was so breathtakingly beautiful. The forest was so lush and so green and the trees are so high,” she said while on set. “I felt like a tree nymph in the rainforest. I felt so magical.”
Though the team dealt with heavy fog for much of the photoshoot, the images turned out as fabulous as ever. For this, Aldridge credited Yu Tsai. “Yu Tsai is a magician and he made the photos look gorgeous, fog and all,” she gushed.
But their success was also due to the seasoned model’s years of experience and her insight into working with photographers. According to her, having trust in the photographer is “the most important thing” because “you will be sexier and more confident and comfortable and that really comes through in the pictures.”
Thankfully Aldridge felt that sense of mutual trust almost immediately with Yu Tsai, who really brought good energy and fun to the lush Washington set. “He’s so fun to work with,” she said of the SI Swimsuit regular.
The 37-year-old was right, and Yu Tsai worked his magic in spite of the natural obstacles and crafted the most beautiful final products—with the help of Aldridge’s talent, of course. Here are eight of the beautiful photos from her SI Swimsuit photoshoot in Washington.
