Tori Praver was photographed by Stewart Shining in Maui, Hawai’i.

Tori Praver posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue three years in a row, for a total of five brand features. In 2007, she earned two photoshoots during her rookie year. She posed for Walter Chin in Memphis, Tenn., and also participated in a unique music-themed bodypaint feature in New York with Joanne Gair.

Praver double-dipped the following year, again with a beachside photoshoot in Hawai’i, where she worked with Stewart Shining, and a bodypaint spread that reunited her with Gair in Turks and Caicos. The 36-year-old model posed for the publication most recently in 2009, when she traveled to the Canary Islands with visual artist Steve Erle.

Having grown up on the island of Maui, Praver was familiar with her surroundings when it came to her 2008 photoshoot.

“There’s just so many beautiful things to see here, to capture the real beautiful nature of it all and the aloha spirit,” she stated while on location. “I’m so glad to be home. I mean, this is like a dream come true to do here.”

Today, Praver is a proud mom of three, a swimwear designer and a published author. She launched Tori Praver Swimwear in 2009, and the brand features stylish bikinis and one-pieces for women and girls. Praver’s children’s book, The Truth Fairy, was published in ’21.

In honor of the model’s continued career success in various industries, we’re throwing it back to eight of our favorite snaps from her photoshoot in Maui.
