The Olympic athlete has been featured in three different SI Swimsuit Issues, starting with her debut in 2012.

While Alex Morgan is known for her athletic prowess on the pitch, the NWSL star is also a three-time SI Swimsuit model. The San Diego Wave FC captain and two-time World Cup champion first posed for the publication in 2012, when she stepped in front of Kayt Jones’s lens in a New York studio. For the project, Morgan sported a painted-on swimsuit, courtesy of bodypaint artist Joanne Gair.

The 34-year-old mom of one returned to the fold a decade ago, when she traveled to Guana Island in the British Virgin Islands alongside photographer Adam Franzino. Her most recent brand feature took place in 2019, when Morgan landed on the cover of the annual publication after a stunning feature in St. Lucia with visual artist Ben Watts.

When it comes down to soccer versus modeling, Morgan told USA Today that the latter was a tougher endeavor.

“It’s definitely harder trying to be a model for a day, because I am in no way a model,” she told the outlet. “Soccer is what I grew up doing—it’s my passion, and I’m way more comfortable on the field in my soccer cleats.”

Regardless, Morgan’s confidence shines through the photographs Watts captured of the Olympic athlete’s cover girl moment five years ago. And while we adore many of the looks she wore while on location, the itty-bitty yellow bikinis and bold lemon-hued one-piece she modeled were our absolute favorites. Below, you’ll find a selection of Morgan in the aforementioned bright and beautiful swimwear.
