Brazilian Musician Anitta Sparkled in These 6 Photos From Florida

Two years ago, several musicians landed spots in the SI Swimsuit Issue. The 2021 magazine featured Megan Thee Stallion, Tinashe and Anitta. While each of the photoshoots were fabulous, today we’re taking a look back at Anitta’s incredible beachside feature.

The Brazilian singer and songwriter traveled to Hollywood, Fla., alongside photographer James Macari for her magazine appearance. Though she was happy to receive the invitation, it wasn’t a call that the musician was necessarily expecting. 

“When I got the invitation to be here, I figured out that’s the dream of all models and supermodels,” she expressed on set. And while certainly outside the bounds of her normal career, she was up for the task. “I like challenge[s]. I like breaking walls and doing new stuff,” she said.

For Anitta, it was more than just a photoshoot. It was an opportunity “to show how versatile I can be because then people understand [I’m] not just one thing,” she explained. And, at the end of the day, it wasn’t so different from her day-to-day job, either.

“I like this vibe because it’s like me on stage, but at the beach. It reminds me a little of the Anitta that sings and has these shiny outfits on stage,” she said. “I loved it.”

Anitta wasn’t your traditional model when she came to the SI Swimsuit set, but she put her incredible skills on display and proved that she didn’t need to be anyone but herself in order to be successful. After all, it wasn’t so different from her stage vibe. Below are a few of our favorite photos from the day.
