Ciara’s SI Swim Cover Photoshoot in Barbados Was Absolutely Jaw-Dropping

The singer-songwriter and mother of four was a force to be reckoned with in the 2022 issue.

We know we don’t need to spell it out, but we will anyway: Ciara can do it all. Yes, she’s a hit musician. Yes, she’s the wife of Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and the mother of four children. Not only does she do all of those things, but she does them exceptionally well, too. She is a powerhouse, there’s no denying it. For all of these reasons and more, SI Swimsuit was ecstatic to have the 38-year-old grace the cover of the 2022 issue of the annual magazine.

The Texas native headed to Barbados to pose in front of photographer Ben Watts’s camera, and the resulting photos do not disappoint. It wasn’t simply a dream come true for the brand. It was a dream come true for Ciara, too. 

“I’ve always dreamt of being on this cover, ever since I was really young and especially as an entertainer,” she revealed while on set. “I remember the first time seeing Tyra Banks on the cover of Sports Illustrated. That was a big deal, especially being a Black woman—at that time a Black young girl. She was so powerful. She was a force. It made a lot of noise.”

Like Banks, Ciara was an inspiration on the cover of the 2022 issue in her own right, and she made her own noise. Here are a few of the brilliant photos from her cover photoshoot.
