Katie Austin’s Strappy Bikinis Stole the Show at Miami Swim Week

The 2022 co-Rookie of the Year rocked both neutral and bright color on the runway.

Katie Austin walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show at the W South Beach for Miami Swim Week on Friday, July 7, wearing a strappy, wrap-tie white number and a criss-crossed daring dark purple suit.

The certified fitness trainer and health coach was named co-winner of SI Swimsuit’s Swim Search open casting call in 2021. She returned to the fold last year and earned co-Rookie of the Year honors after posing for photographer James Macari in Montenegro. This year, she traveled to the Dominican Republic, where she reunited with the same visual artist.

SI Swimsuit’s festivities began earlier on Friday with a brunch and panel discussion moderated by Nicole Williams English, a rookie in the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue. Later, cover girl Brooks Nader did a live makeup demonstration with DIBS, a cruelty-free and vegan brand, while guests enjoyed piercing activations, courtesy of Electric Picks, and complimentary scalp massages from Divi.

An annual event, Miami Swim Week showcases the latest and hottest swimwear trends from the top designers and brands worldwide. Attendees can enjoy fashion shows, open bar events, VIP gifts and more.

In addition to her modeling work with SI Swimsuit, Austin is making a name for herself as a fitness influencer. Her program, The Katie Austin App, offers more than 260 on-demand home workout classes, as well as healthy and simplified recipes. The daughter of fitness guru Denise Austin, fans may remember the iconic moment when the duo walked the Miami Swim Week runway together last year.
