Lauren Chan’s Top 5 Swim Looks From the Dominican Republic
If you ask Lauren Chan, her most favored look from her rookie SI Swimsuit photoshoot in the Dominican Republic was somewhat easy to pinpoint. “My favorite swimsuit from the day was the Bromelia tortoiseshell bikini that we shot in the cenote,” the model and entrepreneur told us during magazine launch week events in May.
While Chan’s feature, which was captured by James Macari in the Caribbean country, was inspired by the summer’s trendy Barbiecore aesthetic, she rocked plenty of bold patterns and strong silhouettes, like the aforementioned tortoiseshell bikini, in addition to pink.
“I just think the colors are stunning [and] it’s wearable as ready-to-wear as well because of the neutral shades and what I typically choose to style with, and it looked so gorgeous against that deep, deep blue water,” she said of her fave suit while in Miami this summer.
In addition to her work as a model, the Toronto native is also an entrepreneur and former editor. She previously worked as the fashion features editor at Glamour, where she focused on a plus-size fashion beat. Additionally, this spring, Chan’s size-inclusive luxury womenwear label, Henning, was acquired by Universal Standard.
When it comes to her rookie photoshoot, we’re just as enamored with the Bromelia two-piece as Chan herself is, but also couldn’t possibly narrow our favorite picks down to just one. With that said, below are a handful of our favorite swimsuits—both bikinis and monokinis—that Chan modeled while on location in the Dominican Republic.
