Meet Your Cover Model: Kate Bock

You know her. You love her. Kate Bock is one of three SI Swimsuit 2020 cover models.

Making eight consecutive appearances in the SI Swimsuit Issue is no small feat. But Kate Bock brings more than longevity to the table. She’s compassionate, dedicated, witty and a true asset to the Swimsuit franchise. We caught up with the Canadian beauty just days after she was surprised with the news of her cover:

SI: You’re a cover girl -- what does that feel like? 
KB: It doesn’t even feel real yet! I can’t believe it. It’s an absolute dream come true. I’m still in shock!

SI: What do you see when you look at the four covers of SI Swimsuit 2020?
KB: I love them all. I loved the experience of shooting in a group. That’s not something I’d ever done with SI Swimsuit and It was really special getting to share that moment with girlfriends that I love. I love that we are all so different and respect and love each other for our individuality.

SI: Having been a part of SI Swimsuit since 2013, you are a Swimsuit vet. What are some distinct changes you see in yourself and the ways you've grown over those eight years?
KB: Swimsuit has always wanted the girls in the issue to feel comfortable and confident in themselves. They help you to feel your best self and are truly nothing but positive and encouraging with all the different types of beauty that are represented on their pages. I personally felt so good in my skin this year and am so proud of how hard I’ve worked to get to this dream goal moment.

SI: If you could go back, what (if any) advice would you give yourself eight years ago?
KB: Be kind, work hard and your dreams can come true.

SI: You have been a major part and influence in the evolution of this brand. You quite literally have sat in boardrooms with us to brainstorm. Why is being a part of the brand important to you?
KB: I love this brand, the women who run it and what it stands for. Being creative in the boardroom and helping think of ways to grow SI to its full potential is a total dream. I am so passionate about this brand and fully believe that being passionate about the company you work with is so important for its success. No other job or opportunity gives me goosebumps the way SI does every year that I’m confirmed to shoot. They’ve taken me on the most unbelievable adventures, introduced me to new cultures and given me a voice, a name and a platform I wouldn’t have without them.

SI: From our perspective, the sky's the limit for you. What’s next in your career and journey?
KB: I’m so excited for this issue to be revealed and for everyone to see all the work we put into it. I have been loving creating and sharing healthy recipes and home workouts at home during quarantine and can’t wait for you to see what’s new with my brand, LOVE KATE.
