Model and Musician Alyssa Miller Stuns in These 6 Snaps From Fiji

Her debut paved the way for additional features in the two years following the tropical trip.

American model Alyssa Miller made her SI Swimsuit debut back in 2011. That year, she posed in two different tropical locations alongside two different photographers, in addition to a bodypaint feature in a New York studio. And while all of the photos were incredible, today we’re throwing it back to her trip to Fiji with photographer Walter Iooss Jr. 

In addition to a series of beautiful photos in the most incredible vibrant swimsuits—she rocked deep red bikinis that perfectly contrasted with the vibrant blue ocean and deep green trees—the model had the chance to walk the team through her vacation essentials. In an SI Swimsuit exclusive video from the set, Miller took on the “what’s in my bag” trend before it even existed. 

For her, a trip to the beach requires the following: a cover-up (hers was a sheer white number), a camera, spare bikinis (necessary for an SI Swimsuit photoshoot, naturally), the key to her apartment and her phone. “Pretty simple girl,” she remarked with a laugh.

Miller didn’t require much for her first feature, bringing an effortless energy and her beautiful self to the beaches of Fiji. The trip resulted in a series of beautiful snaps, which she had the chance to follow up in with additional features in both 2012 and 2013.

These days, the California native continues to model for a variety of brands in addition to pursuing a career in music. The 34-year-old is effortlessly cool, and we’re forever thankful for her first feature in the magazine that made her a part of the SI Swimsuit family Below are some of our favorite photos from that trip.
