Rose Bertram Embraced Vibrant Bikinis and the Picturesque Backdrop on Set in the Islands of Tahiti
Rose Bertram is familiar with the set of an SI Swimsuit photoshoot. With three consecutive features in the annual issue between 2015 and ’17, she’s become somewhat of an expert at the whole process. Even by the time of her photoshoot in 2016, when she traveled to the Islands of Tahiti with photographer Yu Tsai and the rest of the SI Swimsuit team, she was immediately at ease.
The Belgian model was completely enamored with the location for her second year. “When you look around you, it’s like a big picture,” she said of the tropical destination. “The water is one of the most beautiful waters I’ve ever seen. It’s really a dream come true to be able to shoot here.”
The location may have been incredible, but, we have to say, so was Bertram’s talent and beauty in front of the lens. She embraced her natural curls for what she deemed “a goddess look,” and it could not have been more stunning. Though not easy to work with so much volume—particularly with wind involved—“I feel like I can work it,” she said of the look. And she was right.
More than anything, though, the 29-year-old was most excited for the chance to return to the set. “I am so so grateful to be able to shoot with Sports Illustrated again,” she gushed. “I feel like this year I am more confident and I know how to move better.”
Here are a few of the brilliant photos from her 2016 appearance.
