Georgina Burke didn’t let short notice keep her from becoming an SI Swimsuit rookie last year. When the Australian model had only 24 hours to get to Barbados, she hopped on a plane immediately.

“I was actually in Montana at my boyfriend’s place and received a call,” she reflected during the magazine’s New York City launch events last year. “They’re like, ‘How can you get to Barbados?’”

The Burke NYC founder made a splash posing on the beach in the Caribbean, and returned to the publication this year for her sophomore feature. She traveled to Puerto Rico, where she posed for photographer Ben Watts, the same visual artist she worked with for her magazine debut.

“Finding out I was gonna be in Sports Illustrated [was] a huge milestone in my career,” Burke admitted in an IMG Models interview earlier this year. “I was stuck in Montana and they gave me 24 hours to get out to Barbados. So it was kind of cool that I didn’t get to freak out. I didn’t do any crazy diets or anything silly that you think you’d want to do for this shoot.”

Below are eight of our favorite photos from Burke’s rookie SI Swimsuit photoshoot in Barbados.
