SI Swimsuit Legend Carol Alt Makes Fabulous Return to Miami Swim Week Runway

The seven-time model is back 10 years after her last magazine feature.

Seven-time SI Swimsuit model Carol Alt has returned to SI Swimsuit almost 10 years after her most recent magazine feature. The model, who made her debut with the publication in 1981, walked the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show at Miami Swim Week on Friday, July 7, wearing a Nordstrom sleek white snap closure-front one-piece and matching Gigi C sarong.

Alt was a well-known supermodel in the 1980s who appeared on the cover of more than 700 magazines throughout her career, including Harper's Bazaar, Vogue, Elle and Cosmopolitan. She landed on the front of the 1982 SI Swimsuit issue after being photographed by John G. Zimmerman in Kenya. The 62-year-old is also the author of several food and nutrition books.

Miami Swim Week is an annual event where brands can display their latest summer swimwear lines and designers, as well as models, can gain global exposure. SI Swimsuit’s events began on Friday with a panel discussion featuring 2023 rookie Nicole Williams English. Five-time model Brooks Nader hosted a glam tutorial and showcase with DIBS Beauty, a rapidly growing makeup brand for which the 2023 cover girl is an investor. For a full summary of the day’s events, click here.

Alt has also starred in several films including Thunder in Paradise and Deadly Past. She served a stint as the TV host of Fox News’s A Healthy You and Carol Alt.
