The Stunning Barbara Palvin’s Most Glorious 6 Photos From Curaçao

In 2016, model Barbara Palvin was named the SI Swimsuit Rookie of the Year, earning the honors for a fabulous set of photos that she posed for on the beaches of Turks and Caicos. Naturally, she had to return to the issue the next year. She traveled to Curaçao with photographer Ben Watts for her second consecutive appearance in the annual issue.

The Hungary native’s second year was just as good as the first and, in some ways, it was even better. For one, she had far more confidence heading into the photoshoot than she had the first time around, an experience she “was very nervous” about, she admitted while on set in Curaçao. “But then I got to know the people, and now the second year, I was super excited to see the whole team again. You always just have fun” on set, she explained.

In addition ton the fun, though, Palvin admitted that posing for the publication “is actually a workout.” She had to contend with the waves and the wind and hold some impressive, yet challenging poses. “But at the end, it always looks beautiful,” Palvin said, which made up for any difficulties.

The 30-year-old’s second brand photoshoot only left her wanting more. “I’m very sad because I kind of want to keep going,” she said of the experience. Luckily for her—and for us—she did return in both 2018 and ’19. And it left Palvin with an important lesson in confidence. “Now I just can’t wait to see the results,” she gushed.
