Legendary model Elle Macpherson has appeared in 10 SI Swimsuit Issues over the years, starting with her debut in 1985, when she posed for Brian Lanker in Australia, and most recently in 2006, which landed her the magazine’s cover after posing for Raphael Mazzucco in the Bahamas.

She’s graced the publication’s cover five times in all, including three consecutive covers between 1986 and ’88. In addition to her modeling career, the 59-year-old has also ventured into wellness entrepreneurship and is the proud mom of two.

On July 27, Macpherson shared a photo with her 704,000 Instagram followers in which she showcased herself getting back to her roots—literally. The model sat perched in a tree as she arched her back along the trunk in a summery white sundress.

“The most sacred learning that I’ve received from nature is that we are nature,” she wrote in her caption. “We are one and the same. We are the beauty of the trees, we are the whisper in the wind, we are the taste of the salt from the sea, and the rhythm of the waves. We are the beauty of a flower blossom and the richness of the soil and its microbiome. We are nature.”

She credited photographer Leia Vita Marasovich with the snap and included a link to an article in her profile for more thoughts on her connection to nature.
