Yumi Nu Modeled 3 Unforgettable Cut-Out Swimsuits in Montenegro
Yumi Nu joined the SI Swimsuit family two years ago, when the New Jersey native posed for photographer Yu Tsai in Tampa, Fla. Her return to the fold last year was epic, as Nu earned the cover of the annual magazine after an astounding photoshoot in Montenegro with James Macari. The model has now made a trifecta of appearances in the publication, as she traveled to Dominica with visual artist Amanda Pratt for the 2023 SI Swimsuit Issue.
While each year just keeps getting better and better, we’re always floored by the photographs that landed Nu one of the covers of last year’s magazine. While in the Balkan country, the 27-year-old musician and clothing designer posed in a number of incredible looks, from one-pieces to bikinis. Some of our favorites, which we’ll be reflecting upon today, fell into both categories and featured bold and flattering cut-outs.
“I never saw all this coming,” Nu told SI Swimsuit of her cover girl moment during last year’s magazine launch event in New York City. “I was just really happy to be in the magazine at the minimum. I always try to stay appreciative of what I have going on at the moment. So, even if I was just a rookie and it stopped there, I would still be so happy about that. But I’m so unbelievably happy to be a cover model.”
Nu couldn’t have been more deserving of the cover feature. Below you’ll find a few of our favorite snaps captured in Montenegro.
