Hyunjoo Hwang made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2020. The Korean-born model progressed as a finalist in the open casting call swim search in ’19 but was selected to return the following year as a rookie. She traveled to Bali with photographer Yu Tsai for her photo shoot.

The 31-year-old is a trained ballet dancer and has also posed for notable brands including Victoria’s Secret, Laura Mercier, Michael Kors and Nordstrom.

“I have such a big passion as a performer, so I always wanted to be on stage or on screen, so I think that’s why I became a model,” she said of her chosen career path. Additionally, Hwang called her SI Swimsuit photo shoot a “big change” as both a model and woman.

Hwang went on to share that outside of her thriving career, the real measure of success is being surrounded by the people she loves.

“I know myself and what I want to do,” she added. “I feel very liberated and I feel free.”

Hwang regularly shares sneak peeks into her life as a model and dancer on Instagram, where she posts behind-the-scenes content from work and lifestyle images from her day-to-day adventures.
