The model and artist landed six SI Swimsuit Issue features in three years.

Alyssa Miller was photographed by Stewart Shining in a New York studio.

Alyssa Miller was included in the SI Swimsuit Issue six times between 2011 and ’13. In her first year with the franchise she posed for three features, including beachside photo shoots in Fiji and Hawai’i with photographers Water Iooss Jr. and Bjorn Iooss, as well as a special body paint feature. She traveled to a New York studio to work with Stewart Shining and makeup artist Joanne Gair.

The following year, Miller posed for photographer James Macari in Seychelles. The two reunited in 2013 for a photo shoot in Australia, and the model again teamed up with Iooss Jr. and Gair for another body paint spread, this time in the Bahamas.

“I’ve seen the body painting, and it’s incredible,” Miller gushed on the set of her first franchise photo shoot using the medium in 2011. “I mean, I can’t believe that, that like I’m able to do it myself.”

The 33-year-old, who has also worked with notable brands like GUESS and Victoria’s Secret, donned a pink floral painted-on one-piece for the opportunity. She noted that Shining helped “keep the energy up” on set and was a joy to work with.

Today, the former model works as a musician and regularly promotes her projects on Instagram, along with outfit snaps and other life updates.

Below are 10 of our favorite images captured at Miller’s first body paint photo shoot with SI Swimsuit 12 years ago.
