California native Alexis Ren has been putting her modeling skills on display since a young age, and she began documenting her career on social media at 14. Her online presence gave her the chance to show her personality as well as her skill in front of the camera.

Ren was featured in the 2018 SI Swimsuit Issue after a stunning photoshoot in Aruba. She accompanied photographer Yu Tsai to the idyllic tropical location and brought her sparkling personality, too. Having practiced ballet for many years, the model took the chance to show off some of her incredibly impressive skills on the bright sand beaches of the Caribbean. Several of her photos from the session featured Ren’s skilled poses and ballet-inspired outfits, and posing in swimwear was comfortable for her, too.

“I’ve lived in a bikini my entire life, and so modeling bikinis was just so natural to me,” she said on set.

While ballet may have been her passion at the beginning (and is yet very dear to her, she expressed in a recent Instagram post), modeling has also become a skill that she has cultivated into an impressive career, which has featured spots on the cover of Grazia and Ocean Drive, among others. Her resulting résumé is one that her SI Swimsuit feature fit nicely into.

Ren certainly proved herself a natural in front of Yu Tsai’s lens. Below are some of the incredible snaps from her photoshoot, which earned her Rookie of the Year honors.
