Martha Stewart basically broke the internet when she made history earlier this year as SI Swimsuit’s oldest cover star. The 82-year-old was photographed by Ruven Afanador in the Dominican Republic for the 2023 issue.
“I thought, ‘This is kind of historic’ and ‘I better look really good because I want other women to feel that they could also be on the cover of Sports Illustrated.’ But I’m telling you, it’s very inspiring to take a look at a [picture by photographer] Ruven [Afanador] of Martha Stewart in the ocean here at Casa de Campo and see something really gorgeous,” she said.
The lifestyle guru and best-selling author revealed while on location with the team that she doesn’t think too deeply about her age—when making friends or forming connections. The Martha Stewart Podcast host and TV personality strongly believes that what individuals do, and the legacy they leave, is what’s important when choosing people in your life.
The Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia founder has built her empire around perfecting various skills and healthy living. She is always searching for and sharing “the best way to accomplish a task, the best way to create a craft, the best way to cook a dish.”
