In 2018, model Olivia Jordan took part in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's annual Swim Search program, an open casting call for those who want the chance to be featured in the issue.

When Jordan took to the beaches of Belize alongside photographer Yu Tsai that year, the model didn’t want it to just be any regular shoot. She wanted it to be her “best shoot ever,” she said while on set on the Caribbean beaches.

“Sports Illustrated for me is the epitome of modeling,” she explained of her perception of the brand and her motivation for taking her chance to be featured through Swim Search. “It’s this opportunity to showcase how feminine and sexy and empowered you are.”

The 34-year-old was a pageant queen growing up and was certainly used to the spotlight, but she was still grateful to the SI team for making her feel comfortable as she embarked on what was a new adventure.

“It’s such this positive, supportive, creative environment,” she said of the experience on set. “You’re so empowered to just be you and be comfortable in your body and be celebrated.”

Not only was she thrilled with the atmosphere, but she was thrilled with the finished product. “To turn around and see that the monitor was capturing that Sports Illustrated image that I’ve always dreamed of was really crazy,” she said.
