6 Vibrant Photos of Pro Tennis Player Genie Bouchard in Turks and Caicos

The Canadian athlete headed to the islands for her debut SI Swimsuit feature.

When Canadian tennis player Genie Bouchard found out about her first SI Swimsuit feature, “I was very excited but at the same time nervous,” she admitted. She soon found herself on the beaches of Turks and Caicos along with fellow tennis professionals Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki.

Though a bit nervous, she came prepared, too. Bouchard admitted that prior to the photoshoot, she practiced some of her poses while at home. “You’ve got to get in the mentality of just trying to be sexy on the beach,” she said with a laugh.

The feature included several props, including a giant black inflatable swan and a rainbow-colored umbrella to match Bouchard’s equally vibrant swimsuits. For Bouchard, the props really added a special something to the photos, making for some of her favorites from the trip.

“There’s one shot that sticks out in my mind where I had an umbrella and I was jumping,” she said. “It was the most athletic shot of the day, for sure.” She posed for the same pic a handful of times, battling the wind as she held the umbrella up in the air.

Since everyone was “raving about the umbrella shot,” Bouchard headed to the computer to take a look for herself. “I definitely looked very athletic leaping into the air, so I was proud of that,” she remarked. As a pro tennis player, it’s no surprise she brought her athleticism to bear on the beach in 2017.

Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
