South African model Natasha Barnard is a two-time SI Swimsuit model. The 35-year-old made her debut in the annual issue in 2013, when she accompanied the magazine’s team to Hayman Island, Australia, for her rookie photoshoot.

The following year, she traveled with photographer Raphael Mazzucco to Barreirinhas, Brazil, for her sophomore appearance in the issue. While there, she took the time to reflect on earning a second consecutive feature and how the experience differed from the year before.

“There’s definitely a big difference between being a rookie and your second time around in anything you do in life,” she explained on set in the South American country. “The second time around is just a little bit easier, you feel a little bit more comfortable.”

She also expressed an appreciation for the chance to work with the whole SI Swimsuit crew again. “It’s always fun to work with this team. I wish we could shoot more often and not just once a year,” Barnard noted.

Barnard wore various vibrant colored and patterned swimsuits for her photoshoot in 2014. “Against the backdrop of the white sands and the clear water,” the suits “really stood out beautifully and looked incredible,” she remarked.

She was pleased with the final photos, which were “magical,” Barnard said. “Everything just fit together so well. Just unbelievable.” We completely agree—both the swimwear and the scenery combined for an epic series of images.

Below are seven of the stunning photos from Barnard’s second appearance in SI Swimsuit.
