8 Astounding Photos of Lais Ribeiro in Costa Rica

Brazilian model Lais Ribeiro has been featured in four different SI Swimsuit Issues, starting with her rookie feature in 2017. That year, she traveled to Sumba Island, Indonesia with photographer James Macari.

Ribeiro returned to the following two years, when she posed for the magazine in Harbour Island, Bahamas, and Costa Rica, before taking a year away from the fold in 2020. The 33-year-old model made a comeback in 2021, when she worked with Anne Menke in Sacramento, Calif.

When the ’21 SI Swimsuit Issue was released, Ribeiro wrote on Instagram, “It’s ALWAYS a pleasure to work with such an amazing team. Proud of all the beautiful and strong women in it.”

Each of Ribeiro’s brand photoshoots has been better than the last, and we continue to be blown away by her work with other notable brands, such as Victoria’s Secret and Chanel, along with magazine covers for publications like Cosmopolitan Germany and GQ Mexico. We’re also impressed with her desire to see more diversity in the industry.

“I do see a lot of changing and empowerment in the industry,” Ribeiro told SI Swimsuit two years ago. “But we have so many ways to go, you know, but at least people are talking about [it], people are really like changing. It changed so much, I think our industry was so in the box, you know. I think we’re just starting to open the box, and it’s like a long way to go, I think.”
