All hail Hailey. Last week it was announced that Hailey Clauson would be returning for her seventh SI Swimsuit Issue appearance. The 27-year-old model was recently on set in the Dominican Republic, and the SI Swimsuit team shared exclusive, behind-the-scenes content of her shoot on Instagram.

Clauson made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2015 and returned each year thereafter through ’19. As luck would have it, she scored the 2016 issue cover in just her second year with the franchise, working with photographer James Macari in Turks and Caicos. After a break during which she founded her own boutique modeling agency in Los Angeles, serving as its creative director and photographer, she traveled to Barbados to work with photographer Ben Watts for a 2022 Swimsuit Issue feature

“It feels good, I’ve been modeling for eight years almost now, and it feels good to work hard and it pays off,” Clauson told E! News of her SI Swimsuit cover. “It’s amazing to be celebrating different body types, I mean, that’s something I’ve always felt really strongly about... I’ve been through all the struggles and had to stick to who I was and own who I was so it was amazing to be appreciated for my body type and be on the cover of Sports Illustrated next to two different body types [MMA fighter Ronda Rousey and model Ashley Graham] who probably had similar experiences as me. It’s amazing, I mean, it’s changing the world.”

Below are eight stunning snaps from Clauson’s 2016 cover photo shoot in Turks and Caicos with Macari.
