Alana Blanchard Dons Cutest Cotton Candy One-Piece for an Afternoon of Surfing

The pro athlete shared a hilarious outtake from her wipeout at the surf park.

Alana Blanchard.

Though Alana Blanchard is no longer hitting the waves on the World Surf League tour, the 33-year-old is far from putting her passion for the sport to rest for good. Her life has changed a lot since her early days in the sport, as she is now married to former pro surfer Jack Freestone, with whom she shares two children. However, Blanchard still makes time to hit the waves (usually with her sons in tow).

Her most recent afternoon session looked a little bit different than most, though. Rather than taking to the ocean for a surfing excursion, she hit the surf park. Blanchard took to the FlowRider, an artificial surf simulator, in a chic long-sleeved cotton candy-colored one-piece.

In a clip that the athlete shared to her TikTok, she took on the waves like the pro she is. But she didn’t last too long, soon getting taken by the force of the fake wave. “When you get humbled by the flow rider,” Blanchard wrote across the clip.

“Safe to say its harder then it looks😂,” she joked of her wipeout in the caption. Blanchard may not have lasted too long on the artificial waves, but we can guarantee she certainly lasted longer than we would.

Her fans laughingly sympathized with her experience. “if one of the top female surfers in the world struggles with these i’m convinced they’re rigged 😂,” one wrote—and we have to agree. If she can’t do it, who can?
