Los Angeles native Alyssa Miller made a notable impression with her SI Swimsuit debut in 2011. The rookie participated in not one but three different photoshoots that year.

She traveled to Fiji with photographer Walter Iooss Jr., as well as Hawai’i with Bjorn Iooss for two beachside spreads. Miller was also featured in a bodypaint photoshoot, which included the expertise of makeup artist Joanne Gair and was captured by visual artist Stewart Shining in a New York studio. The model and musician returned to the fold in 2012 and ’13, for a total of six SI Swimsuit features in just three years.

Her trip to Hayman Island, Australia with photographer James Macari was certainly an unforgettable one. While on location, Miller modeled a number of pretty and pastel bikinis, from soft pinks to light purples.

“I shot in Australia, and I had never been before,” she explained on Extra at the time. “ ... I had never been before and it was always a dream to go, it was on my bucket list, so SI [Swimsuit] took me there. I was really happy and excited.”

Miller called the pastel theme of the photoshoot “beautiful,” and noted how wonderfully the bikinis contrasted with the “super white sand” of her surroundings in Australia.

Don’t just take the model’s word for it, though. See for yourself, below, as we’ve curated a collection of a few of our favorite snapshots from Miller’s unforgettable 2013 SI Swimsuit feature in Australia, captured by Macari.
