SI Swimsuit 2020 Model: Anne de Paula
If you had three wishes, what would they be?
Endless health, happiness and love.
If you could personally witness any event in history, what would it be?
Rome – there is so much history there that I would like to see when it all started.
What is something that you have never done that you want to do?
Go to Jerusalem. And travel more.
What’s your most embarrassing moment?
That’s a hard one. When I was young I had so many!
What’s the most regrettable beauty trend you’ve ever tried?
I think when I was younger and everyone had their hair colored, I wanted it too and it wasn’t a good fit for me.
If you could hear one song performed live by any musician what would it be?
“Back at One” by Brian McKnight.
What’s something people wouldn’t know about you?
At home I am not at all what people imagine through social media. I am extremely chill, always in sweatpants and cozy outfits. I don’t like clubbing; it’s a rare thing to see me out at night.
In a world full oF influencers, who influences you most?
I wouldn’t say someone influences me. I do admire many women I follow, but I don’t let the internet world get into my life and family. It can be toxic sometimes. We are all unique and we should keep it that way.
What motivates or inspires you?
The love for what I do. I am so grateful and thankful that my job has allowed me to do so much for my family and loved ones. It keeps me going.
Do you have a self-care ritual or a creative pursuit?
I meditate, and I read the Bible a lot. It brings me joy to find my inner peace.
What’s the worst holiday gift you ever received?
I don’t think I have received a bad gift because, the intention is what matters. I have received socks, does that count? I still used them, though.
What’s your guilty pleasure snack?
A snack in Brazil called Pao de Queijo. They are like cheese bites and they’re delicious.
Looking back, what advice would you give to your 14-year-old self?
At 14 I was already modeling, a year in the business, and I didn’t know much of what was to come. If I could tell myself something, it would be: KEEP GOING, don’t give up!!! Many times I have received “no” and have doubted moving out of my country and taking this chance. I am glad I kept going, but back then I could have used a friend to help motivate me and give me courage.
