Ashley Graham made history as an SI Swimsuit rookie in 2016 when she became the first plus-sized model to ever land the cover of the annual issue. She was photographed in Turks and Caicos for the occasion. She returned to the fold the following two years, when her work with the brand took her to both Fiji and Nevis

While she appeared in several Swimsuits for All campaigns prior to her work with SI Swimsuit, editor in chief MJ Day noted that Graham had been on her radar for some time.

“... I actually met with Ashley the summer before that ad came out and already loved her,” Day stated. “It’s one of my most memorable castings. She’s so beautiful and yet she was one of the most impassioned and articulate people who has ever come through my doors. We were just so excited to be in each others’ presence.”

While Graham has been modeling since the age of 12, the 36-year-old is also a proud mom of three, wife and body positivity activist. She’s also a published author and has hosted her own podcast, Pretty Big Deal.

“She’s a champion for all women,” Day added of Graham. “There’s no denying that Ashley Graham brings something different to the table. It’s exciting to meet someone who can totally handle this moment, take it, and amplify it, all because of who she is and how she celebrates herself.”

Below are just a few of our favorite photos from Graham’s feature in Nevis, in which she rocked the color of the current season way before its time.
