Chrissy Teigen Exudes Beauty and Confidence in These 6 Photos From California

The model was a brand veteran by the time she hit the beach in 2015 for her sixth consecutive year.

For eight years in a row, American model Chrissy Teigen graced the pages of the SI Swimsuit issue. The features took her to some idyllic places, from the Philippines to Zanzibar and everywhere in between. For her sixth consecutive appearance in 2015, the model made her way to California, posing along the beaches of the West Coast with photographer Yu Tsai. 

While there, she reflected on her epic history with the brand. “I’ve been so lucky to shoot on so many different beaches for Sports Illustrated,” she said. From far-flung destinations to those close to home, the model brought the same incredible energy no matter where the brand took her.

While in Northern California for her photoshoot, Teigen noted, “It’s nice to bring it all back home and get that Americana [feel] out of it.” The swimsuits that she wore for the photoshoot were various shades of blue, a theme she felt was fitting for the location. “Hopefully we get some very bright, vivid colors out of this,” she said.

Though the nerves no longer affected her so much in her sixth year, she recalled having felt them acutely during her debut with the issue in 2010. If she could go back, she “would’ve packed some confidence because [she] was so nervous,” she said. “This year [has] been very different for sure.”

The now 37-year-old brought a different level of confidence to her California photoshoot, and it showed. Below are some of the stunning snapshots from the trip.

Now through Nov. 1, 100% of SI Swimsuit’s portion of proceeds from cover prints purchased here will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund, which is helping to support the people and places of Maui affected by the recent wildfires.
