Courtney Conlogue’s SI Swim Photoshoot in Turks and Caicos Will Make You Want to Book a Flight

Professional surfer Courtney Conlogue literally made a splash during her SI Swimsuit feature in 2020. The model and athlete traveled to Turks and Caicos with the team and posed on the breathtaking beaches amidst big waves for photographer James Macari. 

The Santa Ana, Calif., native first hopped on a surfboard and into the water at the age of 4, and she never looked back. Seven years later, she became the youngest person to ever be selected to the USA Junior Surf team. Clearly, the 31-year-old is accustomed to and not afraid of pushing boundaries.

“One of my favorites [quotes] is, ‘You can’t change the winds but you can direct the sails.’ It’s just a nice mantra because there are a lot of variables and for any athlete, there’s a lot that you can’t control, but there are things you can control within yourself,” she shared. “Don’t be afraid. And to be strong and don’t have fear. And if you have fear, don’t let it hold you back. Just feel those butterflies as fuel for the fire. When I feel that, I know I’m ready. When you get those butterflies, it just means, game’s on. I look forward to when I get those butterflies. It just means that things are about to get real exciting.”

Today, Conlogue is slowly building her brand as an influencer. She often shares her various adventures in nature—surf- and non-surf related—and released a collection of bikinis and one-pieces with swimwear brand JOLYN last year. Conlogue is also the creator and founder of apparel and coffee company Sea Tiger.
