Throwback Thursday, 1988: Elle Macpherson's 'Thailand Fling'

IF THERE'S one thing we know about Australia, it's that there's never a shortage of "It" Girl model exports. Jessica Gomes, Jessica Hart,Miranda Kerr, Gemma Ward and more recently, model/DJ/chef/artist Robyn Lawley. But first there was Elle. So it adds a layer of significance (not to mention lofty expectations) when Marie Claire Australia shot Robyn for their latest cover in a nod to one of Elle Macpherson's record five SI Swimsuit covers.

What's more, it gave us the perfect excuse to look back at that 1988 cover shoot in Thailand with Marc Hispard for this week's Throwback Thursday. Done and done.
