While many families have holiday traditions relating to seasonal recipes and festive activities, Gayle King has a particularly unique one: for the past seven years, she and her niece, Mekenzye Schwab, have participated in a swimsuit photoshoot together. Not only do we approve of this ritual, we hope others will pick it up, too!

The television personality showed off this year’s set of snaps on Instagram on Monday, in which both women sported a bright and sunny yellow one-piece swimsuit. The two were photographed as they strutted along a beach in Mexico while surrounded by greenery. Both King and Schwab accessorized with sunglasses, wore their hair down and, in true beach fashion, opted for no shoes.

“It all started as a joke in 2017 where I was making fun of Mekenzye and now it’s turned into a thing….but full disclosure everybody looks good taking a picture at @rwmayakoba in Cancun!” King noted in her caption of the luxury resort in Playa del Carmen. “Highly recommend ☀️.”

The Nov. 27 photo carousel also included pics from prior years, in which the women posed in black-and-white swimwear, bold prints and colorful patterns, and more.

Plenty of the author’s one million followers piped in to the comments section to provide feedback on the fun family photos.

“Super cute!” Married to Medicine star Simone Baxter Whitmore declared. “Auntie-Niece duo doesn’t get any better!”

“Hotties 😍😍,” author Elaine Welteroth gushed.

“Your authenticity is a breath of fresh air!” a fan cheered.
