Hailey Clauson Rocked Gorgeous Puka Shell and Crochet Looks in Kangaroo Island, Australia
Seven-time SI Swimsuit model Hailey Clauson made her marvelous brand debut in 2015 with a phenomenal double-feature in Hawai’i and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Southern California native returned to the fold and landed on the cover of the 2016 issue her sophomore year, after she posed for James Macari in Turks and Caicos. She traveled to Finland and Indonesia in ’17, the Bahamas in ’18, and Australia in ’19.
The 28-year-old took a brief hiatus from starring in the magazine and then returned to the fold with a bang when she worked with visual artist Ben Watts in Barbados and reunited with Macari in the Dominican Republic last year.
The model, who entered the industry at the age of 13, has partnered with major brands including Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Louis Vuitton and Versace. Today, she is the co-owner and creative director of Los Angeles-based boutique modeling agency, Margaux the Agency. Clauson is focused on creating positive change for young models, with hopes that her clients don’t experience some of the negative aspects she did when starting out in the industry.
“I’ve grown up with the [SI Swimsuit], which has been really cool. I feel like I’ve grown into myself. Every year, I have a new mindset that I am going in with the woman that I am. I feel extra confident and comfortable in my skin, and it’s less about being in a swimsuit and more about how I feel on the inside,” she shared. “I’ve always wanted people to be proud of who they are and own every part of themselves. [With Margaux] it’s cool to change the traditional beauty standards and make people realize how amazing they are and how much potential they have. We have a lot of people say they never thought they would be a model and now we’ve changed their lives. It’s cool to be a small part of the process.”
