Haley Kalil Is Headed to Kenya For Her Rookie SI Swimsuit Shoot!

You know her. You love her. And now it's time for last year's #SISwimSearch co-winnerHaley Kalil to finally shoot her rookie spread for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit! 

"I honestly cannot believe I am leaving to shoot my rookie spread for the one and only Sports Illustrated Swimsuit," Haley exclaimed. "The past two years have been incredibly life changing and I owe it all to the SI Swimsuit team.

"This rookie shoot represents a culmination of one huge dream, a lot of hard work, and an incredible group of people that believed in me enough to take a chance on this nerdy, non-model...I am living one of my biggest dreams and I still pinch myself every time I think...I'm going to be an SI Swimsuit model."

In case you're less familiar with Haley's journey to becoming a part of the SI Swimsuit family, allow us to enlighten you! You may recognize Haley as the former Miss Minnesota 2014 or from the sidelines of Bank of America Stadium, where she cheers on her husband, Carolina Panthers offensive tackle Matt Kalil.

But did you know that Haley's SI Swimsuit model search shoot in Belize was her first professional modeling job? Talk about rising to the occasion and making your dreams come true!

Haley Kalil Poses Topless in Bed to Share an Important Message

Now Haley is slated to shoot her rookie spread in beautiful Kenya with famed photoger Yu Tsai. The two first met last year during Haley's shoot in Belize and will reunite again on this shoot to create some new, iconic images for SI Swimsuit 2019.

"Because it was Sports Illustrated and because I was shooting Yu Tsai, it was just so comfortable," Haley told us after her model search shoot last year. "It’s so natural to embrace who you are as a woman and your sex appeal. It really just came naturally to me. I didn’t feel forced; I didn’t feel uncomfortable." 

Now, she can't wait to continue her journey with the photographer who's been by her side all along.

"I was thrilled to hear Yu Tsai will be shooting my spread," Haley said. "Not only is Yu Tsai world-renowned for his work, but he made me feel like a supermodel during my first real photo shoot in Belize. It only feels right that he is shooting my first official SI Swimsuit spread. I know together we will be able to create magical moments that I can't wait to share when the issue comes out."
