Hannah Teter Is a Sight to Behold in These Photos From Her SI Swim Debut in Whistler
When American professional snowboarder Hannah Teter headed to Whistler, Canada for her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit debut in 2010, she was walking both familiar and unfamiliar terrain. She was in a locale that she knew well: the ski slopes. But she had never posed for the magazine before, and had certainly never taken to the slopes in just a swimsuit.
Though an unconventional experience for the Winter Olympian, it was no means an unwelcome one. “Growing up in Vermont in the middle of the woods, I just never ever dreamed of being in Sports Illustrated,” she said while on set. But, admittedly, it was “fun” to pose for the annual issue, she remarked.
Teter won a gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics, and four years later, she followed up her first podium performance with a silver medal at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. She proved very early on in her career that she had what it took to make a name for herself. Her other accolades include nine Winter X Games apperances and several other solid performances on the biggest stages.
Much as she has on the slopes, she impressed us that day in Canada. Teter proved that she is as much a force to be reckoned with in front of the camera, snowboard in hand, as she is on the slopes—and we’re still not over it. Here are just a few of her incredible photos from the trip.
