Irina Shayk Embraced Lace, Floral and Bold Bikinis During Her SI Swim Photoshoot in Spain
SI Swimsuit legend Irina Shayk posed for the magazine 10 years in a row. The supermodel, who made her debut with the brand in 2007 with Pamela Hanson in Arizona, and was photographed by Steve Earle in her home country, Russia, the following year.
The model double-dipped in 2009, for feature in nothing but bodypaint, as well as another breathtaking city feature in Italy. The 37-year-old returned to the fold the following year in Chile, and landed the cover in 2011, when she was photographed by Bjorn Iooss in Maui, Hawai’i.
The mom of one, who shares her daughter, Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper, with her ex-boyfriend, actor Bradley Cooper, has also traveled to Zambia, Spain, Madagascar and Kauai, Hawai’i with the magazine.
Shayk’s most recent photoshoot was in the islands of Tahiti in 2016, where the former Victoria’s Secret Angel celebrated a whole decade with the brand.
“To be honest, the time flew by. Today I woke up and I was like, ‘Wow this is my 10th year!’ It’s kind of amazing. It changes every year—they take you to different locations every year. I feel like I grew up with them—they hired me back in 2007 and I didn’t really speak English back then,” the New York City resident reflected at the time. “Every time you learn something [new]. I’ve learned a lot about being more confident with my body, because Sports Illustrated always hires girls who love their bodies, their curves, and it’s really important to love your body. My journey with them really showed me how you can be a better woman—how you can experience your body in a better way and be more confident.”
