8 Stunning Photos of Australian Model Jessica Gomes in China

Jessica Gomes made her SI Swimsuit debut in 2008 and went on to appear in eight consecutive magazine issues for a total of nine features. Throughout her time with the franchise, Gomes traveled everywhere from Israel to Portugal to Australia to Madagascar—and more.

In addition to SI Swimsuit, Gomes has worked with a number of other notable brands, including DKNY Jeans, Levi’s and Victoria’s Secret. Today, the 37-year-old model continues to work with companies like Burberry and Cartier.

Gomes’s mother is from Hong Kong, while her father hails from Portugal. Together they immigrated to Australia in the 1970s. She previously told SI Swimsuit that she’s been traveling to Asia since she was a little girl. 

The model got the chance to work in southern China for her SI Swimsuit Issue photo shoot in 2013 when she posed for photographer Derek Kettela.

“I love embracing the Chinese culture,” Gomes said. “Coming to Guilin has been such a different experience for me because it’s something that I’ve never seen and it’s just really opened up my eyes to the Chinese culture.”

Gomes shared she was “blown away” by all the swimsuits she wore on location, and said her very favorite was a bright pink bikini with a tassel on the bust.
