Jessica Gomes was photographed by Walter Iooss Jr. in Sydney/Cairns, Australia.

Known for her work with the SI Swimsuit Issue, Jessica Gomes appeared in each annual magazine from 2008 through ’15. She participated in two features her first year, including a beachside photoshoot in Israel and a bodypaint spread that took place in Turks and Caicos. Her most recent brand photoshoot was in Yellowstone National Park in 2015.

While Gomes first started modeling at the age of 13, she wasn’t aware of the SI Swimsuit Issue until about four years later. “I remember hearing about it because I idolized Elle Macpherson and I remember seeing all her old covers. And I just remember thinking, ‘Wow, I’d love to do that,’” she recalled

The self-described tomboy had the opportunity to pose for the annual magazine in her native Australia in 2012, when she posed for Walter Iooss Jr. in Sydney/Cairns

“I’m very interested in business and creating my own products,” she said that same year. “I really love that I can look at myself as a brand and I’m so happy that I have a great international fan base throughout Australia, America and Asia.”

Since then, the 38-year-old model has landed covers of publications like InStyle Australia and has participated in editorial photoshoots for brands like H&M.

While on location in Australia, Gomes modeled several bold red bikinis and bright and beautiful two-piece swimwear looks. Below are just a few of our favorite photographs from Down Under that capture the model’s natural beauty.
