Julie Henderson has been a fixture in the SI Swimsuit Issue since her debut in 2007. With that much experience, Henderson has seen and worn just about every swimsuit imaginable. She's putting that experience to good use by collaborating with Basta Surf to design her own line of swimwear. SwimDaily spoke with the seven-time SI swimsuit veteran about branching out into design, her future plans and outfitting Kate Bock for the 2013 SI Swimsuit issue.

SwimDaily: Why did you branch out into swimwear?

Julie Henderson: It seemed like a natural progression for me, I've been featured in seven Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues now, and if I could have it my way, I would live in a bikini all year round.

SD: Did you ever think you'd have your own line when you first appeared in the issue?

JH: I never imagined the opportunities that would be presented from being part of Sports Illustrated.

SD: What is your favorite part of your Basta Surf swimwear line?

JH: I love water activities so not having to worry that part of your swimsuit will come off was very important. So I really focused on the line being very wearable but still looking fun and flirty.

SD: Do you see yourself designing more than swimsuits in the future? If so, what?

JH: I would love to. I will have to see what inspires me for the next season. Stay tuned...

SD: What's your favorite swimsuit worn in the SI Swimsuit issue?

JH: This year rookie Kate Bock ... she looked amazing in one of my designs! I never thought I'd see the day where what I've designed are in the pages of Sports Illustrated!
