Kelly Gale Is Stunning in These 8 SI Swim Photos From Indonesia

The Swedish model was featured in the 2017 SI Swimsuit Issue.

Kelly Gale was photographed by James Macari in Sumba Island, Indonesia. 

When Kelly Gale posed for the SI Swimsuit Issue in 2017, she donned a number of incredible bikinis on the beach in Sumba Island while posing for photographer James Macari. In addition to tiny two-pieces, the 28-year-old Swedish model also rocked nothing but a necklace for a few of her snaps in Indonesia. 

“My favorite swimsuit was probably a little bohemian one that I wore,” Gale admitted of her time on location with SI Swimsuit. “It was different. I hadn’t really seen a swimsuit like that before and it was really sexy.”

In addition to posing for the SI Swimsuit Issue six years ago, Gale has worked with a number of notable fashion brands, such as Victoria’s Secret and Chanel. While Gale began modeling as a teenager, she told Grazia shortly after her SI Swimsuit magazine feature that the industry had changed quite a bit since she got her foot in the door.

“I started... right before the whole social media thing kind of took off,” Gale noted. “Back then it was more about casting looks and personality had nothing to do with it. I prefer it now a lot more because it’s more about who you are as a person—or at least, who you portray yourself to be. What your brand is, which you decide yourself, as opposed to it just being about what you look like. I prefer it now [fueled by social media], but I know a lot of people don’t.”
